Tweeting Twitters!

So I bravely confronted the new frontier of blogging! I like to think I'm fairly computer literate, I do work on a computer for a living for Pete's sake, but seriously when it comes to this, I am clueless!!! I am happy to say I think it's going ok so far...So I only have 12 followers, I am darn happy to every single one of them!

But, I find as I snoop around on all these blogs I have started following; agents, published authors, new writers and so on, that maybe, just maybe, I need to be on Twiiter.

WAIT WHAT?!?!? I have no idea how to Tweet and retweet (Ok, I just think it's funny to say it), and frankly, it scares the heck of me!

I would love to hear your point of view about Twitter and if you have any advice, please chirp it on over (hah...Oh, man sometimes I crack myself up) No really though, I could use some help with it. Give me some thoughts...

  1. I like twitter. You have to briefly state (140 characters or less) your message. I'm still getting the hang of it all myself, but am having fun with it thus far. C'mon over, you'll enjoy tweeting I bet. ;)

  2. Do join twitter! When I first started I felt like the new kid who didn't know anything. Follow @inkeyelbows-- she has a whole blog set up to teach you the ropes. And find me @eveningfades. I'll follow you. :)

  7. Welcome to twitter - it's fun and a little crazy. You can use the find people tool - just don't put the @ in front of their name when you search.

I've got an award for you over at my blog :)

  10. Hi! I found your blog by way of Jemi's. It's nice to meet you!

I'm not a Tweeter (is that even how you say it??). I'm knee-deep in my first novel and between writing, blogging and family life, I just don't want to spend time on other things. I also don't FaceBook, to the chagrin of my four sisters who use it as their number one communication outlet.

One day, when I'm marketing a book (*unconsciously crosses fingers*), I'll use everything -- Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace, web page, billboard on the side of my house -- anything I can to get the word out.

For now, I just blog :D

  11. Hi Nicole! WELCOME! So nice to meet you too!

Haha, I have no idea what it's called, it's all new to me! Your life sounds alot like mine-writing,blogging, family time, but every once in awhile I throw a bit of actual work in there! Unfortunatly, I am an avid Facebooker also and apparently a Twitterer, so really I'm not sure when the writing actually gets done :)

I will have my fingers crossed for you too, when that time comes! I love the billboard on the house idea ;)

I am going to check out your blog RIGHT now! Thanks for joining me!

  12. Hi Shawna - I came here via your follow on Twitter, so it seems you've got the hang of things! I'm also new to tweeting and now find it totally addictive. There is always an interesting conversation or URL to check out and it can eat your time in a serious way. I try to get some writing done first thing before I plug into the internet, then my WIP is the first thing loaded in my head and is what is taking most of my brainpower. Tempting though it is, I don't look at Twitter first thing or I'll never get anything written!

    happy tweeting.

  13. Hi there DWC! I had a writer friend recommend your Nail Your Novel book, so I went to your blog and found that you Twitter (Sheesh that was roundabout)

What a great idea to write first thing! I will for sure do that from this point on, well from tomorrow on anyhow. I always jump on the internet first and then waste the whole day only to find no writing has been accomplished! Thanks for that tip!
